Hello!
My name is Uriel Gavito, and I am a videographer, editor, and filmmaker with nearly a decade of professional experience creating story-driven video across a wide range of formats.
I work across the full production process: directing, shooting, editing, and producing content including documentaries, branded and promotional videos, music projects, fashion shoots, social-first media, and short films.
My background spans both high-quality, professional production environments and fast-turn digital content, allowing me to adapt storytelling and production scale to the needs of each project.
In addition to long-form and polished work, I have created short-form content that has gone viral multiple times on Instagram, giving me a practical understanding of audience engagement, timing, and platform-native storytelling. Regardless of format, I approach my work with intention, clarity, and a deep respect for the power of visual storytelling.
I earned a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from The University of Texas at Austin, where I refined my technical skills and collaborative practice. My work has received statewide recognition, including being named a State Finalist in the 2019 UIL Young Filmmakers of Texas and receiving the Roderick P. Hart Award for Screenwriting.
From 2024 to 2025, I pursued a period of spiritual study and service that included living and working within faith-based communities in the United States and India. During this time, I served as an assistant to Ray “Raghunath” Cappo, supporting video production and promotional content for his widely followed podcast while accompanying international travel.
This experience strengthened my sense of humility, discipline, and service-oriented communication, qualities that continue to inform my work as a filmmaker.
Today, I am based in Austin, Texas, focused on producing thoughtful, high-quality video that connects with people in an authentic and meaningful way. Whether working independently or collaboratively, I value clear communication, creative integrity, and storytelling that reflects care for both the subject and the audience.
If you’re interested in collaborating or creating together, I’d be glad to connect.

Education
2019-2023

Radio-Television-Film
My education at UT Austin is one characterized by experiential learning. I studied a semester in Madrid, Spain, learning resilience and filmmaking in another country. I navigated Covid-19 by transmuting it into an opportunity to learn remote working skills, where I led a team to create an animated project sponsored by a professional screenwriter.

Finally I have been a part of dozens of filmmaking projects, which have given me the beautiful opportunity to fail over and over again. And there is no teacher quite as powerful as failure! With this wealth of knowledge and experience, I am equipped to tackle any creative challenge.
